Tour Harvard University

Of course, the city of Cambridge is practically synonymous with the ivy-league school, Harvard University. What many may not know is that there are actually some incredible and interesting tours offered year-round. Not only are these tours affordable, but they are student-led and take you through the prestigious school’s history and give you a glimpse of what life at Harvard is like today.

Go to Harvard Square

You may stop by Harvard Square while you tour the university but it truly is worth being mentioned as its own attraction. Harvard Square has long been considered the “heart” of Cambridge and is full of lively cafes, vibrant boutiques, and great restaurants all centered around historic architecture. If you’re planning a stay in Cambridge, you may want to consider one of the many popular hotels in Harvard Square!

Learn Something New at the Museum of Science

The Museum of Science is a wonderful way to spend the day in Cambridge. With over 700 exhibits, an Omni IMAX Theater, and several shows throughout the year, the museum is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who visit – especially if you bring your kids!

Listen To Some Live Music

Although it is just a short drive to Boston, Cambridge is actually one of the best places to see live music in the Greater Boston area. There are a variety of clubs and venues that bring in incredible acts all throughout the year. Club Passim is touted for its folk music shows dating back to the ‘50s and The Middle East is a great place to catch a rock or indie band (and also grab a bite to eat).

Explore the Longfellow House

Looking to be enthralled by colonial history? Look no further than the Longfellow House. Though named after the 19th-century poet, Henry Longfellow, the house is possibly best known as the former headquarters for General George Washington from 1775 to 1776. Today, the house has been remarkably preserved as a national historic site and invites guests to tour its gardens and libraries while experiencing its history first-hand. What makes the Longfellow House even better is its cost of admission; totally free!

Tasty Treats at Toscanini's

February in New England is surely known for its frigid temperatures and ice cream may not exactly be on your mind this time of year but we assure you, a stop at Toscanini’s is absolutely worth it! Since its opening in 1981, Toscanini’s has been cherished by all in the city. The shop has even been named the “World’s Best Ice Cream” by the New York Times
